Mr. Cope supplied information on Chester County, and Mr. Ashmead on Delaware County. History of Delaware County, Pennsylvania by Henry Graham Ashmead 1884 Call Number: REF 974.814 ASH In 1976, George Smith added an index to make this reference easier to use. This book has a total of 54 chapters, of which the following are noteworthy: The Revolutionary War, the Battle of Brandywine, the Civil War, and accounts of several cities, boroughs, and townships including the City of Chester (p. 327-424).
